My Curriculum….

Lyrical Piano Soprano. Born in Sabadell (Barcelona) and later moved to El Vendrell (Tarragona) where she began her musicianship studies. She was a singer in the Coral Polifónica del Vendrell under Joan Toldrà’s baton and, shortly after joining, she stood out as a soloist.
During her training, she has been taught by Isabel Penagos and Carmen Bustamante and for the past four years she has been studying and perfecting her voice with the prestigious tenor Daniel Muñoz in Barcelona.
She had her debut as the soloist soprano in Carmina Burana by C. Orff in El Vendrell (Tarragona) and the role of Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana in Barcelona.
She has taken workshops and masterclasses with Montserrat Caballé, Carmen Bustamante, Jaume Aragall, Daniel Muñoz, RicardoEstrada and composer and conductor, maestro Miquel Ortega. During her career, she had the pleasure of working with the accompanists and maestros Josep Caralt, Ricardo Estrada, Manel Ruiz, Josep Buforn, Luis Avedaño, Elena Kolesnikova, Marta Pujol and Manuel Angel Burgueras.
She has sung in operas like La Traviata (Violetta), the concert version of Rigoletto (Gilda), La Bohème (Mimi), Cavalleria Rusticana (Lola) and The Magic Flute (Pamina) in different venues in Spain.
In addition, she is part of a variety of Zarzuelas (Operettas) like Luisa Fernanda (Duchess Carolina), La Tabernera del Puerto (Marola), La Alegría de la Huerta (Carola) and La Corte del Faraón (Raquel) as well as singing as a soloist in various works among which
Vivaldi’s Gloria, J.S. Bach’s Magnifcat, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Réquiem, C. Orff’s Carmina Burana, Beethoven’s Ninth and Rossini’s Stabat Mater stand out. She has taken part in Zarzuela recitals performed during Zarzuela’s week, organized by Caja Madrid, Obra Social and Espai Cultural in Barcelona and The Great Spanish Zarzuela Anthology in Sibu (Rumania), organized by Filarmonicasibu.
Cañizares has sung in all the main Spanish venues, such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona) and the prestigious Perelada festival.
In August 2014, she was awarded the Solfa Management grant in the XI international Singing Camerata course in Sant Cugat.
For the coming year 2020, she is scheduled to sing in Trovatore (Leonora), La Bohème (Mimi), La Norma (Norma) as well as in other recitals and concerts.
